Chelsea basically want every player re they?

Leeds are in deep s**t too but why we would sign another young guy just give Ethan game time

Why do you look at football in such a simplified manner? Gray and Ethan do not play the same positions.

What’s the point of Archie when we have MLS? It’s a dumb transfer.

Get an elite player or an experienced one ala Jorginho. Getting a young kid is not the right play unless they have a bonkers ceiling.

Archie is 6 months older lol. Seriously though it’s crazy a kid gets chance in the championship he is 30 million player. When we have a super talent in Myles and because he has no lower league experience. He is worth probably 300k right now. But signing Archie would be a big fvck you to the academy. Let’s not forget that Brazilian kid got a chance who was trash while a better player in cozier didn’t

Now this is the right comparison. Unfortunately for MLS he's 1.78m and Archie is 1.87m. Managers now like their DM's tall so looks like we might feel Archie has more potential.

Maybe we just don't rate MLS? Archie is the same age and was one of the players of the season in the Championship while playing nearly every minute, his debut season as well.

A lot of our academy players we rate won't make it, it's been like that for years.

Lool that is the craziest thing I read. Only the likes of Dyche, Moyes and Arteta are height obsessed. By far the highest rated teenage midfielder is 1.74 cm Joao Neves. No one would say I prefer archie bargie cause he is 13 cm taller

It might be complicated but I think we can both rate MLS and be interesed in Archy and both could be part of the squad for next few years and both could even become a starters in near future.

Edu is embarrassing as our DoF

If I was Josh..would definitely be questioning Edu, Per and Mikel. We earn next to nothing for our players.

Look at Sambi..he had a stellar season and yet we can't sell him off. I bet Chelsea would be getting 25-30mill for him.

Why are people talking about using academy players? It's just not happening under Arteta. We had a dead rubber CL game and he proceeded to use Cedric instead of Walters and then brought on the likes of Ødegaard, Rice and White when there was no need to. He's just not gonna use them it's as simple as that. I've not seen anything to suggest he will.

Mate we had Omari 8 times in the bench and he didn’t get a minute while Arteta gave marquinhos minutes. 12 months later Omari went for over 20 million while marquinhos is gonna spend rest of his arsenal contract out on loans. It comes down to a manager being brave. If Archie was an arsenal academy player he wouldn’t got minutes either. Because we seen him play first team football our manager can see it now

He has used Saka a lot. Nketiah and ESR also got their fair chances under his tenure. Sagoe Jr was debuted last season. Second youngest squad in the league. Martinelly and Saliba also being developed from young age under Arteta. Nwaneri will get chances next season.

They were already established. Nketiah made his debut under Wenger. Saka brought in by Emery and Freddie and was starting PL games before Arteta came in. ESR had debuted the season before under Wenger. Nelly again brought in a thrived under Emery, Freddie had him starting too.

Absolutely yes please.

Him with someone like Kimmich would be great. Could see both getting done for combined 70m. We will have money for a Winger and LB to go along with it then.
Very hard to justify spending 100m on someone like Neves when guys like this are going around for quarter of that. (Although I would love if we go for Neves aswell).

You are not established on your debut. There is still a lot of development yet to be done. Arteta has been working with these players during their youth and giving them chances after chances, having them involved a lot. Same with Nelson.

I agree Arteta is not doing this at same rate as Wenger but the focus has been on other things in recent years and there has been less time.to debut more youngsters but with more established squad now I fully believe we will see more youngsters debuted and developed.

It’s not that he would not play young players. He is the type of manager who can’t see young player with no first team football play and prefer the one who has. Hence why he gave Marquinhos minutes but couldn’t see it with Omari. Everyone of us could see Omari was way more talented. It’s the reason I can see him seeing it with Archie but not with Myles. With a manager with such limited vision young players who had some experience will have much bigger advantage than our academy. Forget about the bond fans have with one of their own making it. Its financially disaster if you can’t even produce a young player who can become a squad player for years

It’s waste to spend a decade training these young players if none of them can get minutes. And you just gonna spend big on other kids.

Yeah this thinking I dont understand, particularly when we've seen Arteta evolve in front of our eyes over the last four and a half years at the club.

There was a time when Arteta couldnt coach an attack, Arteta couldnt improve players, he couldnt get the team to defend properly, and he also couldnt do anything with this team unless he had all his starters available.

You have a point at the moment, but I would refrain from absolute statements like things will never happen. Because you stand a good chance of looking foolish in time.
