Crafting and building are big parts of Aska, and you'll need raw materials to make all of the equipment for your adventures. In this guide, we'll tell you how to get your hands on raw resources on the island!

AskaResources List | How to Get Crafting Materials

Here is how to get all of the Aska resources you'll need to help keep you and your villagers alive!

How to Get Bark

Aska Resources Guide | How to Get Crafting Materials | TechRaptor (1)

You can get Bark by chopping down all trees with an Axe. Each tree will yield around 4 pieces of Bark. Furthermore, you can get Bark by breaking up Long Sticks and Logs with your Axe.

Bark can be disassembled on the ground or in your inventory and converted to 1–2 pieces of Fiber.

How to Get Beetroot

You can find Beetroot growing in the ground in Autumn and Winter. Beetroot can also be farmed. Notably, Beetroot is the only farm crop that can be grown during the Winter.

How to Get Berries

Aska Resources Guide | How to Get Crafting Materials | TechRaptor (2)

You can get Berries by harvesting Berry Bushes in Spring and Summer. Berries can also be farmed.

While Berries provide little in the way of restoring your Food stat, they also restore a fair amount of your Water stat as well.

How to Get Bone Fragments

You can get Bone Fragments by killing wild animals, Skeletons, and Wights. After killing these creatures, you must then harvest their bodies with a Knife or a Hammer (depending on the creature).

How to Get Cabbage

Aska Resources Guide | How to Get Crafting Materials | TechRaptor (3)

You can find Cabbage growing on the ground in Summer and Autumn. Cabbage can also be farmed.

How to Get Carrot

Aska Resources Guide | How to Get Crafting Materials | TechRaptor (4)

You can get Carrot by harvesting it from the ground in Summer and Autumn. Carrots are one of the few food items that can be farmed.

How to Get Coal

You can get Coal by placing Firewood into a Bloomery and allowing it to cook. Once it's done, you'll have a substantial quantity of Coal. Coal can then be used to craft Iron or to fuel other fires.

It's also possible to get Coal by overcooking food. This is not an ideal way to get Coal, however, as it's much more difficult to get Coal than it is to get Firewood.

How to Get Feathers

Aska Resources Guide | How to Get Crafting Materials | TechRaptor (5)

You can get Feathers by harvesting Fallen Bird's Nests which are typically found on the ground next to tall trees. A Fallen Bird's Nest also has the chance to give you a Wild Egg.

Feathers are required for making any kind of Arrows. It's a good idea to hold on to a small supply of them at all times, but don't fill up too much space with them!

How to Get Fiber

You can most easily get Fiber by harvesting Flax plants in the wild. Flax is one of the few items that can be grown at a Farm, and it is the only crop aside from Beetroot that can be grown in every season.

It's also possible to get Fiber by breaking down Bark, either by harvesting it on the ground or dismantling it in your inventory. Finally, you can get Fiber by killing Wisps on the beach.

Fiber is an essential component for crafting most items and tools; it's used to make Rope which is used in many tools, weapons, and buildings. Fiber can also be used to make Linen products which can eventually be turned into clothing.

How to Get Firewood

Aska Resources Guide | How to Get Crafting Materials | TechRaptor (6)

You can get Firewood by destroying tree stumps with a Pickaxe. You can also get a small quantity of Firewood by breaking Long Sticks or Logs with an Axe. Firewood is necessary for lighting fires, and it's absolutely essential to have a good supply of Firewood for Winter.

How to Get Garlic

Aska Resources Guide | How to Get Crafting Materials | TechRaptor (7)

You can find Garlic growing in the ground in Spring, Summer, and Autumn. You can also plant this crop in a Farm and grow it during those same seasons.

How to Get Gray Mushrooms

Gray Mushrooms can be found throughout the year after it rains. Eating a raw Gray Mushroom will cause hallucinogenic effects in both you and your villagers, so it's best to cook it before consuming it. That said, it can be safely eaten if you don't mind your screen being a little wonky for a minute or so.

How to Get Hardwood Log

Aska Resources Guide | How to Get Crafting Materials | TechRaptor (8)

You can get Hardwood Log by chopping down Birch Trees. Birch Trees can only be chopped down with an Iron Axe, so you'll need to find a Cave Stone and start producing Iron before you can collect Hardwood Logs.

How to Get Hardwood Long Stick

Aska Resources Guide | How to Get Crafting Materials | TechRaptor (9)

You can get Hardwood Long Stick by chopping down Birch Trees, but you'll need an Iron Axe to do it. You're going to have to find a Cave Stone, collect Iron, and use a Bloomery and the Metalworker Workshop Add-on to create Iron tools.

How to Get Jotun Blood

Aska Resources Guide | How to Get Crafting Materials | TechRaptor (10)

You can get Jotun Blood by breaking up the glowing blue Jotun Blood Shard stones found throughout the world. Jotun Blood Shards will also drop Large Stones and Small Stones. A small supply of 5 pieces of Jotun Blood is provided in the crates surrounding your wrecked ship at the start of the game.

Jotun Blood Shard stones do not respawn as far as I can tell, so you'll have to go further and further afield to collect more as you progress through the game. You can occasionally find one or two pieces of Jotun Blood at enemy spawners in the world, although these will obviously be protected by hostile creatures.

It's possible to get a small amount of Jotun Blood by harvesting defeated otherworldly enemies such as Draugr and Followers. It's a random chance and it's possible to get none at all, though. Take care not to waste your Jotun Blood by allowing villagers to needlessly die!

How to Get Large Stone

Aska Resources Guide | How to Get Crafting Materials | TechRaptor (11)

You can get Large Stone by breaking up Stone Clumps with a Pickaxe. Stone Clumps will also drop Small Stones.

A small number of Large Stones will drop when you break up a Jotun Blood Shard; you'll also get Jotun Blood and Small Stones. Youcan also get Large Stones by mining in the island's Cave along with Iron Ore.

Finally, harvesting Draugr enemies can potentially drop Large Stone along with some Small Stone (and possibly some Jotun Blood, too).

How to Get Leather Scraps

You can get Leather Scraps by killing animals such as Wolves and Bears.

How to Get Log

Aska Resources Guide | How to Get Crafting Materials | TechRaptor (12)

You can get Log by cutting down Fir Trees; you'll need a Large Stone Axe to successfully chop down these larger trees. Young Fir Trees will not give you any Logs.

How to Get Long Stick

Aska Resources Guide | How to Get Crafting Materials | TechRaptor (13)

You can get Long Stick by chopping down any tree. Trees will typically yield at least 2 Long Sticks, and you'll get more Long Sticks by chopping down larger trees.

How to Get Metal Scraps

You can randomly get Metal Scraps by killing certain armored enemies. Metal Scraps can subsequently be melted down in a similar fashion as Iron Ore and used to make Iron tools, weapons, and equipment.

How to Get Mushrooms

You can find Mushrooms all throughout the year after it rains.

How to Get Mussels

Aska Resources Guide | How to Get Crafting Materials | TechRaptor (14)

You can find Mussels on rocks on the beach around the entire island. As far as we know, Mussels donotrespawn; we've had a game go for 90 days without a single Mussel respawning. (If theydorespawn, it takes a very long time.)

How to Get Onion

Aska Resources Guide | How to Get Crafting Materials | TechRaptor (15)

You can find Onion growing in the ground in Spring, Summer, and Autumn. Onions can also be grown in a Farm.

How to Get Raw Red Meat

Aska Resources Guide | How to Get Crafting Materials | TechRaptor (16)

You can get Raw Red Meat by killing Wolves, Bears, and other natural wildlife. You will typically have to harvest the animal with a Knife and then break down larger meat chunks to get the smaller chunks of Raw Red Meat.

How to Get Resin

Aska Resources Guide | How to Get Crafting Materials | TechRaptor (17)

You can get Resin by chopping down any tree. Resin is used in a handful of crafting recipes, to keep built torches and lanterns lit, and in certain religious ceremonies at Runestones.

How to Get Small Stone

Aska Resources Guide | How to Get Crafting Materials | TechRaptor (18)

You can most easily find Small Stone on the beach all around the island. It can also be found on the ground elsewhere, although it can be a little more difficult to spot.

Small Stones can also be acquired by breaking up Stone Clumps or Jotun Blood Shards found in the world.

Lastly, you can also get Small Stones by harvesting defeated Draugr; these dead enemies also have a chance to drop Large Stone and Jotun Blood.

How to Get Stick

Aska Resources Guide | How to Get Crafting Materials | TechRaptor (19)

You can easily get Stick by harvesting a Dwarf Spruce with your hands. Each Dwarf Spruce will give you exactly two Sticks — no more, no less.

Naturally, Sticks will also drop when you chop down any tree. You can get additional Sticks by destroying Long Sticks and Logs with your Axe.

If you're near the beach, you can also randomly get Stick by killing Wisps (along with Fiber).

How to Get Thatch

Aska Resources Guide | How to Get Crafting Materials | TechRaptor (20)

The only way to get Thatch is by harvesting Reeds on the beach. We do not know for certain if Reeds respawn.

How to Get Wild Egg

You can get Wild Egg by harvesting a Fallen Bird's Nest; each harvested nest has a chance to give you a Wild Egg. You'll also get some Feathers from the nest.

How to Get Yellow Mushrooms

You can get Yellow Mushrooms by harvesting them in the wild after it rains in Autumn. Yellow Mushrooms are poisonous if eaten raw, and this Poison debuff will reduce your health. Eating multiple Yellow Mushrooms will cause multiple stacks of this debuff and it can quickly kill you (or your villagers).

Cooking Yellow Mushrooms by boiling them in the Crock Pot of a Cooking House will render them edible and safe.
