After taking turns in the first two games, the Detroit Tigers and the Chicago White Sox head into Sunday’s matinee game looking to come out as the winner of the series. The Tigers have lost five of their last six games, including Saturday’s 5-1 defeat at the hands of the White Sox at home. Detroit was off to a promising start this June after beating the Boston Red Sox and defending champions Texas Rangers twice. However, the Tigers have since dropped 11 of their last 15 games to further move down in the AL Central standings with a 35-41 record. The White Sox is also having a rough June, winning just six of their 14 games this month. Their win over the Tigers snapped a three-game losing skid but it’s also just their fourth win in their last nine games. Chicago is dead last in the AL Central division with a 21-57 slate.
